Video Poker is a beloved game that can be enjoyed in casinos all over the world, or alternatively at your house on your PC, through an Internet connection. The regulations are very simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the best combination of cards possible in order to win cash. On this account it is very similar as a normal game of poker, apart from the involvement with other players. Of course, tactics used in a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless here.
The game of Video Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and presses the deal button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘dealt’ on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and gamblers will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.
After the bettor has decided on which cards he wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards will be handed out if desired. The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Generally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payment schedule can range from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable bettors are agile enough to select the most profitable machine each instance.
After the initial round has played out, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Further, a few styles of the game give the enthusiast an opportunity to double their profits, in which situation another round is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
